Open homes, and why attendance can say "still arriving"
An open home is booked from the listing it belongs to, and every visitor who checks in is recorded against the event, whichever device does the checking in.
Attendance is a sync state, not just a count
The number of attendees on an event is null until the event has settled, meaning every device that was checking people in has finished sending what it captured. Until then the record shows what has arrived so far under its own label, separately from the final figure. That distinction exists because a vendor told "nobody came" when the true state is "the tablet has not finished uploading yet" is being told something false about their own property, on a fact that is entirely about our sync, not about their open home. A per-attendee row also carries when its own capture landed, so a slow arrival is visible at the row level as well as the event level.
Self check-in and private inspections
A private inspection cannot carry the self check-in pairing an open home can - the database refuses the combination outright, and the scheduling screen greys the control out the moment you switch the kind, saying why in the same breath. That is the same rule stated twice: once as a constraint that holds no matter which door a write comes through, and once as a control that explains itself before you press it rather than after.
What settles the event
Settling an open home is its own action, separate from checking a visitor in. It closes the event to further check-ins and is what turns "still arriving" into a final attendance figure. A hazard acknowledgement and a note can both be attached to the event, and neither one can be edited or deleted once recorded - the notes table refuses an UPDATE or a DELETE at the database level, at every privilege level this product has, including its own operations role. There is no edit control for a note because there is nothing behind it to edit.
Callbacks
Where a visitor asks to be called back, that request rides on their check-in record, and the event shows how many callbacks were requested against how many have been marked done. Price feedback collected at the door is summarised on the event the same way - a low and a high figure and how many opinions they are drawn from, never presented as a single number that hides how few people it came from.
